The Emergency Relief Fund was activated at the end of March 2020 in response to additional challenges brought about by COVID-19 within the existing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela. In order to achieve an immediate response, the process was run with nonprofits that already were registered with the Foundation as vendors. To date, the Emergency Relief Fund has granted more than $145,751, specifically aiming to lessen the impact of COVID-19 in the Venezuelan population.
Purchased and distributed PPE throughout Venezuela’s primary hospitals, including masks, gowns and gloves. The supplies protected approximately 1,800 health care workers on the front lines of the fight against the virus.
Delivered sanitation supplies, medical equipment and medicine to at-risk communities in Zulia state, Venezuela.
Provided a health center in Portuguesa state, Venezuela, with the funding needed to enhance interactive connections and mobility, and install a call center and related technology.
